David King

David King has extensive legal expertise, complemented by valuable business and civic experience. He has achieved an AV® Preeminent Rating, the highest rank available from Martindale-Hubbell, a leading attorney rating organization. David represents business entities throughout their entire lifecycle, including formation, sale, governance, taxation, and dissolution. He offers general counsel services to companies across multiple industries and also represents clients in litigation, concentrating on conflicts concerning corporate ownership and control.

David has incorporated hundreds of companies and has served as outside general counsel to businesses in a variety of industries. He represented companies in venture capital investments, initial public offerings, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Moreover, he has gained trial experience in disputes related to corporate control and private securities transactions.

David practiced corporate securities law at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood on Wall Street and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Silicon Valley. In addition to his transactional experience, he has been litigating cases since 2002.

As corporate counsel to startup companies in Palo Alto, David worked on venture capital financings, initial public offerings, employee stock option plans, and Mergers & Acquisitions. During his tenure practicing law in New York, David provided legal counsel on matters related to public securities offerings and international business transactions.

David’s litigation experience includes trials and appeals in state and federal courts. He is a Certified Public Accountant and previously worked as a Senior Accountant at Deloitte. Additionally, he earned the Elijah Watt Sells Award for his outstanding performance on the CPA exam.

David graduated first in his class from the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida in 1991. He subsequently earned his Juris Doctor degree with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997.

David served as Chairman of the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board. Furthermore, he held positions on the San Diego River Conservancy, the County Assessment Appeals Board, and the Advisory Board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He is an active member of various professional organizations, including the San Diego Venture Group, the Association for Corporate Growth, the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego County Bar Association, ProVisors, and the San Diego Track Club. David has a son named Harrison and a daughter named Grace.
